When I try to run the install.php file, I get a blank screen. I can create my own php files, and they work fine. I can also create HTML files and they work fine. However, the files created by wordpress do not work at all. I have checked my permissions a million times and they are fine.

  • What web browser are you using? I’ve heard of certain web browsers having problems with WP files. Try something like Firefox or (gulp) IE and see if it still exists. Alternatively, post a link and someone here can look at it.

same here. Content of the resulting file is:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN”>
    <HTML><HEAD>
    <META http-equiv=Content-Type content=”text/html; charset=utf-8″></HEAD>
    <BODY></BODY></HTML>
    in IE 6.1 SP1
Also, with Mozilla 1.7b, getting same error (<html><body></body></html>).
    Running PHP Version 5.0.0RC1

I’ve tried IE 6, Safari, and Mozilla 1.6. The link is 24.159.54.60/wordpress/. I’m just using the IP address right now until I get it working. PLEASE HELP. I’ve been working on this for several days.

I get an ‘Object not found!” error.
Can you get into #wordpress on irc.freenode.net ? Someone there may be able to help
