php code help

I already have a webpage I would like to to add news to, in b2 i could just include a php code. I can’t figure out how to get the news from my /wordpress/ installation to appear on my index.php. If i include the header file I can get the calander to appear, just not the date or news ‘contents’ to show on my index. any help please.
