PHP and WordPress version incompatibility with hosting

    Hi,

    I created a website using WP 3.8.2 but I need to transfer this site from my subdomain (which has PHP 5.3) to another hosting service, and I just found out that I need to use the WP version compatible with their PHP 5.1.6 version.

    Do I need to downgrade my WP version to an earlier version to be able to transfer the site?

    Do I have another alternative or do I have to build the site from scratch again?
