Dreamhost recently upgraded our PHP version to 7.4. When they did, the site worked, but the admin site did not. Admin would throw a 500 error.

Dreamhost support was able to identify that it was the DreamObjects plugin causing problems. We disabled the plugin and the problem resolved (but now no backups, of course).

    The error:
[Fri Jul 17 13:40:03 2020] [warn] [client 67.191.231.244] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Using $this when not in object context in [snip]/wp-content/plugins/dreamobjects/lib/settings.php:148

How difficult would it be to get this issue resolved? Our backups are down in the meantime (except for the normal Dreamhost backups).

    Thanks.

The new version should have this fixed already. Are you sure you upgraded? I’ll loop back and check but I thought I pushed the fix for this a couple months ago.

ETA: Yeah this should be corrected in the plugin version 4.3.0 so please let me know if you’re on that version or not.

It’s currently 4.2, so let me upgrade and recheck it.

    Thanks, Mika.

Upgrading to 4.3 resolved the problem.
