we have the exact same issue. I have created a gallery, then I am creating a post and adding a gallery there. I upload the gallery but then in the page preview it does not display and instead there is a little icons with a broken link.
we use 5.6.3 version, maybe we should try to update.
PS: Photo Gallery version 1.5.67

I have the same issue as I used Photo Gallery since 2014 on a wordpress website, all photo gallery disappear and not showing. I here give my links:
