Phone number not captured

Hi! I am doing some sandbox testing with Paypal and noticing the phone number is not being captured. How can I fix this?

Also for sandbox testing this might not work. Sandbox testing works differently to live transactions.

The option was off in Paypal (I really appreciate the link….I had looked everywhere I could think of in Paypal and hadn’t been able to find that setting!) and it isn’t working yet, but I have not quite gone live and will check it again then.

I tested the plug-in with Paypal live and still did not receive the phone number. It also didn’t ask for it, but there was a phone number in the Paypal account that didn’t get relayed.
Also, is there a way to have the phone number show in the e-mail notification as well?

What do you mean by “there was a phone number in the PayPal account that didn’t get relayed”?
Also, is there a way to have the phone number show in the e-mail notification as well?

Hi! Sorry for the lack of clarification.
The Paypal account I used to make the purchase had a phone number in it. The Paypal account that is connected to WordPress and is receiving the funds has the option turned on to require the phone number.
I appreciate any suggestions or thoughts you might have.

Hi, Are you using the original standard PayPal checkout option for your site or did you enable the following PPCP checkout option?

I don’t think PayPal offers that option in there new PPCP checkout option.

I am using the PPCP option. I tried switching to the standard and got a Paypal error message that “Something went wrong” when trying to do a purchase.
It seems there might be an incorrect setting somewhere. Could you please share the link to the page with the ‘Add to Cart’ button? This way, I can add an item and inspect the cart.
Sidenote: we have an extension for this plugin that allows collecting information from customers, regardless of the payment gateway used (compatible with both PPCP and Stripe).
