• I started a little personal site not too long ago, and I’d like to change the theme, but every theme I’ve tried ends up messing around with my pictures and/or links (some don’t show pictures on home page, others don’t have a list of “pages”, etc.). If anyone can steer me towards some themes that are near 100% compatible with the format of WordPress 1.6 I’d appreciate it.

  • Have you tried the theme viewer?

Why such an old version of WP? We’re on 2.0.6 now, I believe.

Actually maybe I should have said “Default WordPress Theme 1.6”. I think I’m using the updated software, but I’m just using the default theme.

Using Theme Viewer, can I do a test run using my current blog? Or do I have to download each theme to see how my blog will look under that theme?

You can see a test run of the themes there on themes.wordpress.net – I believe the link to do so is there under the thumbnail of the theme – but as far as I know if you want to see it on your site, then yes, you have to upload the theme into your content folder and activate it in the presentation menu to see specifically how your site will look with it.
