Persistent searching?

I was told by someone at Movable Type of a certain feature (called “Search Results”) allows your blog page to show continuously running search results of keywords you select. This awareness supposedly allows you to stay on top of what you’re interested in without actively searching for the information.

However, I’ve been unable to verify this feature — the closest thing I can find is a website that appears to have a sidebar with persistent searching functionality(see http://www.bradchoate.com/weblog/2004/09/08/mt31, and look under the “Sideblog” section).

Is this a real feature? And if so, can I do the same thing with WordPress?
