First time around I got the plugin Authorized successfully

But I made a mistake and removed the rights (group access member info, user events) it was asking for during the OAuth flow.

I’ve recreated my Facebook app as well as uninstalled (while removing settings) the Import Facebook Events plugin.

Now there’s a persistent error being shown in WordPress:

“The Access Token has been invalidated because the user changed their password or Facebook has changed the session for security reasons. Can you please Authorize/Reauthorize your Facebook account from Facebook Import > Settings.”

When I try and reauthorize the plugin it shows the following error:

“Invalid Scopes: groups_access_member_info, user_events. This message is only shown to developers. Users of your app will ignore these permissions if present. Please read the documentation for valid permissions at: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/facebook-login/permissions”

I’ve looked around the database to see if the plugin left behind an access token but haven’t found one. Any help appreciated.

After some more reading, I found this solution which seems to have helped.

So is it recommended to leave the Facebook app in development mode and things will work as expected?

I’ve checked that there are no age or country restrictions on my event. Though on Event ID import I receive the following:

“We are not able to access Facebook event: <event ID>. Possible reasons: – App Credentials are wrong – Facebook event is not public or some restrictions are there like age, country etc.”

OK just to close the loop I remembered that the event page owner has to indicate they’re “Interested” or “Going”.

Things are working as expected, thank you.
