• I upgraded to 3.0 yesterday and got a repeating error:
    Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Unknown modifier ‘0’ in /****/wp-includes/classes.php on line 210

    Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Unknown modifier ‘0’ in /****/wp-includes/classes.php on line 211

    The fix was to go into the Permalink Settings and set it to Default then back to my setting. The problem is if I just go into the Permalink Settings (even before touching anything) the error comes back and I have to set it to Default and back again to fix it. Any thoughts?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    Thanks for the reply, I just tried those and the problem persisted. Anything else I could try?

    You could try:

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress in case you have a damaged file.
