• I’m try to fix this unwanted insertion of number 2 at the end of the permalink.

I’m writing a new page http://www.example.com/name and I’m still in the preview phase.

Unfortunately I realize that the system automatically add 2 at the end of the permalink in this way http://www.example.com/name-2.

Even if I try to modify it and I cancel 2 when I click ok to save the number 2 come out again in the permalink.

Before of this page I already build an article with the same permalink http://www.example.com/name but I cancelled it first.

Is there any way to remove this 2 from the permalink without too complicate or full of risk operations?

    [ No bumping please. ]

  • At the top right of your edit screen click Screen Options and check the slug box. Scroll down the page and rename the slug. Make sure to update the page.

    Hi Mike!

    Thank you first of all.

Unfortunately even if I update the slug in the box at the very bottom of the page, the permalink keep the number 2 at the end.

If I edit the permalink on the right of the permalink, after the modification in the slug box, I can cancel it but then when I save it pop up again number2.

Of course I tried also viceversa with the confirmation of the same problem.

Go to Pages > All Pages and select the trash folder at the top and permanently delete the old page. Then try resetting the permalink.

    Hope that helps.
