Permalink Issue?

Not sure I’m labeling this correctly however at end of each category page there is a link to go to the next page (permalink?) however that link is broken and you get a page that says “oops! That page can’t be found”.

First time this happened the person who put the site together said it was jetpack; and after re-activating it I had no issues. I de-activated jetpack this time and still have the issue so I’ve reactivated jetpack.

Try re-saving your permalink structure at Settings/Permalinks in your admin panel. If WordPress cannot automatically edit the .htaccess file, it will provide manual instructions after saving.

Thank you for the follow up but that didn’t work. Is it something my host provider might be able to go in a manually fix???

It’s possible. Do you actually have 2 pages worth of listings under that? You’ll control the number of items per page at Settings > Reading in your site’s Dashboard.

I do….around 60-70 posts.

Does pagination work on the normal blog and categories?

Not exactly sure what you mean by “normal”; the link above is my main “blog” however i took out the word “category” in permalinks. Using this in permalinks.

/%category%/%postname%/

I found this plugin; it’s old but someone gave it a review in the last year so it might still work. Do you know anything about it?

What I meant was, does https://www.koloans.com/blog/page/2/ still work? And it does.

Is https://www.koloans.com/mortgage-rates/ a category, or a custom post type?

Odd; don’t even have “blog” as a category. Was not aware it was an active category. “mortgage-rates” is a category.

It’s not a category, it’s what you set as your blog page via Settings > Reading in your Dashboard. 🙂

Ok, so it seems like mortgage-rates should work. Do you have any other categories that would be 2 pages? If so, do those work?

Ok…before I do any concerns that it will cause a major issue that I’ll have to hire someone to fix?

No, it will either work or not work, and in the even of not working, it’s as simple as deactivating it. 🙂
