  • Same here, just installed 5.0.13 on two different sites and now both incredibly slow trying to view photo album related pages in the front-end…
    Both sites running WP 3.5.2

Please ignore my last message. I initially thought the rest of the site pages were working fine but further investigation showed that they, too, were being randomly delayed. It turns out the problem appears to be related to another pluggin, NewStatPress, as disabling that has fixed all delay issues. Now off to report on that pluggin.

Maybe because – if you have a caching program active – the cache is cleared at un update now. So if thios is the case it will repair itsself very quickly.

I’m not sure what a caching program is or if I have one active. Would that be a plug in?

The only plug ins I have active are as follows:
    – Custom Contact Forms
    – Exclude Pages from Navigation
    – Social Media Icons Widget
    – WP-reCAPTCHA
    – WP Photo Album Plus
    – Simple Cart & Buy Now (now deactivated as I’m not using it)

No you have no caching plugin.

Please check Table IX-A3: Allow wppa+ debugging, then i can see a little bit more…

    Who is your web host?

    I’ve allowed debugging now.

I’m not sure who my web host is as it was a friend set up the hosting package for me as he is a reseller. I asked him about the speed and he thought it was something to do with loading the pictures.

So I guess the slowness is something to do with either:
    1. WPPA
    2. Web host
    3. Photocrati WP Theme?

My Web host is Heart internet.

To create the html for a slideshow like this:

    http://www.leerigby.net/portfolio/people/?locale=en_US&wppa-album=17&wppa-occur=1&wppa-photo=409

took 1.6 sec. However waiting for the page took more than 30 sec. I think it is a busy server. It is defenitively NOT the download time of the images, that is highly optimized ( only a few filmthumbs and only one fullsize image at the beginning ).

I’ve changed the settings to restrict pages to max 40 thumbs and this seems to be helping a lot.

I found a point in the code that was recently changed and could affect performance. This point will greatly be improved in the next version ( 5.0.14 ).

    Fixed.
