    Hello,

I’d like to ask whether TranslatePress supports precise per-page control over which languages are translated.

For example, my website currently has 5 active languages, but some pages do not need to be translated into 2 of them. This would greatly help reduce my translation API usage.

I already ran a test. I enabled the “Manual Translation Only” option, turned off the “Active” switch for 2 languages, and confirmed that these languages were hidden from the frontend language switcher.

However, when I opened a new page and clicked “Translate Page” to enter the editor, after waiting for it to load, I noticed that all 5 languages were still translated automatically.

So, does the “Active” switch only control whether a language is displayed/accessible on the frontend, rather than whether that language is translated?

Is there any other way to prevent certain languages from being translated on specific pages?

    Hello,

Yes, the “Active” switch only controls whether a language is displayed/accessed on the frontend by a logged-out user. As an administrator, you will still see the disabled languages and you can still translate them.

At the moment, there is no per-page option to completely disable automatic translation for specific languages only.

One possible workaround would be to exclude those pages using the “Do not translate certain paths” option from Advanced tab –> Exclude section until you are satisfied with the automatic translation of the rest of the website. After that, you can disable automatic translation, remove those excluded pages from the exclusion list, and translate them manually only in the languages you want.

However, please note that the translated URLs/paths of those pages will still remain accessible for the untranslated languages as well. In that case, the original language content will simply be displayed.

    Best Regards,
