I was able to complete a live donation through Charitable using PayPal. PayPal automatically redirected me to a clean receipt page on the website for my records. However, the plugin (admin dashboard) shows the transaction status as “Pending” instead of “Paid”. It shows the successful PayPal transaction details, etc.

Why is it in pending status if it knows the donor paid?

There can be a few reasons for issues with PayPal donations not getting marked as Paid. Please follow through the steps at https://www.wpcharitable.com/documentation/paypal-ipn-troubleshooting/ to see if any of those resolve the issue.
