Yes that can happen. Let me explain how it works:
In Give, when your donor hits “Donate” Give records the transaction but marks it as pending because you don’t yet have the money. The donor was redirected to PayPal.com to finish their donation over there. Once they finish their donation, they are redirected back to your Donation Confirmation page and that’s when Give updates the status to Complete.
So, if a donor gets redirected to PayPal and DOESN’T finish their donation, then it stays in Pending until 7 days out, and then Give will automatically update the status to Abandoned.
Additionally, if after they finished their donation they CLOSED out the tab rather than waiting to be redirected back to your website, then it will stay in Pending status as well.
Double-check your PayPal account whether it’s there or not. If it is, then just mark the transaction as Complete. Otherwise, Give will handle it after 7 days.
