Payment method menu disappears when active

When in My account and when payment methods were saved in Stripe, then an extra menu Payment methods option is inserted between Addresses and Account details. When I click that menu option, I get there all right but then the option disappears from the menu. This kind of disrupts the visual feedback of a active menu in a different color that I was planning to create. See screenshots before and after clicking Payment methods. Can you tell if this was already fixed since version 4.9 ? Or is this may be a theme issue?
