Password protected visibility not working

Using Twenty Ten 1.3 by the WordPress team

I have established a new post, selected the visibility as “password protected”, selected “ok” to save the changes, selected “update” and then “publish.”

The post shows up as I expected, it asks for a password, and when I enter the password, the enter password box simply goes blank and asked that I re-submit the password.

No matter how many times I go through this process changing the password, updating and publishing, this function does not appear to work.

Suggestions?
