• I have created a new page on our website and used the built-in page visibility settings to require a password for the page however it isn’t asking for a password. It seems that WordPress is recognizing that is is password protected because the page title is prefaced with “Protected:”.

    I have tested it myself after logging out and clearing the cache as well as asking a number of colleagues to test it from their PC’s and phones and it never asks for a password.

    It does however work with the default template which isn’t used at all and has pretty much nothing in it.

  • Hi Dear,

    Try to deactivate your cache plugin and then check .. sometime’s it create such issue’s. if the problem appears to be due to cache plugin then change your setting’s accordingly.

    Thank you for your reply @shahkarkhan02. I have just checked using the ‘Detect Cache’ plugin and there is not caching plugin installed on my site. Any other ideas? I am totally stumped!
