• Greetings!
I was sort of thrown into creating/maintaining our company web site, and don’t know a ting as to what I am doing, so please forgive me if my beginner’s questions are stupid or have been answered a million times! I tried searching the archives but not sure if I am searching using the correct terminology…

Anyway, my boss wants me to add a page on our site that is password protected for employees only. She wants to be able to place Word documents, PDF’s, images, Excel files etc. on this page so our field reps can go there and download them from any computer, smartphone, etc.

    I’m not sure how to:

    a) Password protect a page,

    or

    b) create a page that has links to documents for the downloading…

Any pointers would be wonderful! Let me know if more info is needed!

  • a) See “Password Protect This Post” on Writing_Posts

    b) See Using_Image_and_File_Attachments

The WordPress Codex is the best place to look for this kind of information.

Is this just for download do you can create a folder on the server and password protect from there if you using cpanel create folder in public_html upload what ever you want in that folder and then where all the icons are there is one named

password protect directories click on it
you will have list directories select the one you want protect and create user name password and save.

there is video on how to do that on cpanel.
