Password problem on plug-in | WordPress.org

I get into my site using user name and password, and then try to instal a plug-in , it asks me for my host, username and password. I put in the same details as I have done to enter the site, and I get the message “wrong username/password”. HELP!!!

you got to be admin to install plug-ins

I think I am , aren’t I, if i have the username and password – that means I am the admin doesnt it?

Ignore the previous poster. He tends to mis-read things. You are being asked for your FTP login credentials – not your WordPress login details. ask your host for assistance if you do not already have your FTP login details.

Ok thanks a lot esmi that worked…got my FTP account then I got logged in… but then got the next message:

Installing Plugin: WP Maintenance Mode 1.6.9

Unable to locate WordPress Content directory (wp-content).

Wha?
