    Hello TeraWallet Team,

I am facing an issue with the Partial Refund functionality introduced in TeraWallet latest version(1.7.0).

I was previously using TeraWallet version 1.6.3 and upgraded to latest version(1.7.0)** to test the new Partial Refund functionality.**Steps to Reproduce

    1. My wallet balance is $10.
    2. I place an order for $12.
    3. $10 is paid using the TeraWallet balance.
    4. The remaining $2 is paid using another payment method.
    5. After the order is placed, I process a partial refund of $2.
    6. I then check the Wallet Transaction History.

    Issue

The $2 partial refund is not reflected correctly in the TeraWallet transaction history.

Since the $2 refund corresponds to the amount paid through the other payment method, I would like to understand how TeraWallet handles partial refunds when an order is paid using a combination of:

    • TeraWallet balance
    • Another payment method

I have attached screenshots showing the order, payment details, partial refund, and wallet transaction history for reference.

    Please refer the screenshots below:

Could you please confirm whether this is the expected behavior in TeraWallet version(1.7.0), or if this is a bug?

If it is a bug, please let me know if there is a fix or workaround available.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Thank you for the detailed steps and screenshots. They made it easy to trace what happened on order #253.

Everything is working as intended in TeraWallet 1.7.0. Here’s what each line in your wallet history means:

    1. +$10.00 – “Add manual for testing.” Your starting balance.
    2. −$10.00 – “For order payment #253” The $10 paid from the wallet when the order was placed.
    3. +$10.00 – “Partial refund for order #253 credited to wallet” The wallet-paid portion returned automatically when the order was refunded.
    4. +$2.00 – “Wallet refund #253” The $2 refund you issued. It went to the wallet because the refund was made with the “Refund $2.00 to customer wallet” button.

Why the $10 came back too: when part of an order is paid from the wallet, TeraWallet adds that amount as a negative fee (“Via wallet”). WooCommerce’s Order Total is therefore only the part paid by the other method, $2.00 here. When you refunded $2.00, WooCommerce treated it as a full refund: Net Payment became $0.00 and the order status changed to Refunded. Because of that, TeraWallet returned the whole $10 wallet share as well.

So the customer paid $12 ($10 wallet + $2 Cash on Delivery) and received $12 back, which is why the wallet balance is now $12.00.

How refunds work for mixed wallet + other-method orders:

    • The wallet part is returned in proportion to the refund. For example, on an order with Order Total $20 and $10 paid by wallet, refunding $10 (half) returns $5 to the wallet automatically.
    • The refund amount you enter goes back the way you choose. Use “Refund manually” or your gateway’s refund button to return it through the original payment method. Use “Refund … to customer wallet” to put it in the wallet.
    • This automatic return of the wallet share is controlled by WooCommerce → TeraWallet → Settings → Partial payment → “Refund wallet on partial refunds” (enabled by default). Cancelling an order always returns the wallet portion.

If you’d prefer that a refund only returns the amount you enter, with no automatic wallet share, turn off “Refund wallet on partial refunds”. You can then return any wallet amount yourself with the Refund button next to the “Via wallet” line on the order.

If you see different numbers on another order, send us the order notes and we’ll take a look.
