    Hi there,

I have been happily using Ocean_WP with Elementor & Elementor Pro, then suddenly yesterday, when I was editing a page, I suddenly got a 403 Forbidden error on the site. I believed that it was probably to do with a setting I was playing with in Elementor.

I have disabled all plugins and gone back to default twentySeventeen theme, but when I try to re-activate Ocean WP or Ocean_WP child theme, I get the following error:-

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /var/sites/t/testsite.theportugeezers.com/public_html/wp-content/themes/oceanwp/inc/customizer/settings/header.php on line

I have an open ticket with Elementor too, trying to approach this from both angles.

Please let me know what other information you may need from me, thanks in advance.

    Sam

Hello, I have fixed this issue for the next release, it is because you use an outdated PHP version because from PHP 5.4 you will not have this error.
If you can, I advice you to use PHP 7.0 or 7.1 or at very least PHP 5.6.

Ahh thank you so much, but I’m surprised. According to my PHP version on my hosting, I am using PHP7.0 and it has been working absolutely fine until this very strange issue that suddenly occurred.

I have just confirmed and it was only running PHP 5.2.6. I have finally managed to force the PHP version to 7.1.5

Now I just have an error with Elementor missing the_content, working to resolve that now.

Thanks a lot for the very speedy response and solution.
