  • In a failed attempt to add code in order to remove the sidebar from the Forever theme, I can no longer log in to my wordpress site, and only receive the error message:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘
which specifies that there is an error in the code on line 195 under ‘theme options’. I am not experienced with code, however I imagine that if I could log in, I would simply go to the ‘theme options’ portion of the code, and see where the problem on line 195 is. The error could be simple as an accidentally deleted bracket from the existing code when I erased the incorrect code to remove the sidebar. All I receive now is the error message and I don’t know how I can log in or fix this problem.

    Any tips?!

    Thank you!

You need to use FTP to retrieve the faulty file, correct the error, and upload back to your server. You should be able to access FTP through your hosting control panel, or you could use a standalone application such as Filezilla.

Thank you for your help – it is all sorted out now!
