• I installed wordpress as directed, but when I try to run it I get the following problem:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/…/wp-includes/query.php on line 2171

What is the problem here? Should I just delete the unexpected code?

  • I would think you didn’t get all of the files uploaded

    I has the same error

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home1/…/public_html/wp-content/themes/arras-theme/library/launcher.php on line 99

I cannot enter to mi site and login in, I cannot do nothing,
how i can restablised the site?

Try uploading the files again, as samboll’s post implied.

There were many occasions that an error appeared, when I initially uploaded the file, telling me that the file already existed. I chose to keep the most recent file, in all occasions. What should I have done?

Uploaded all files again (which took all day, thanks to my less than reliable internet connnection), but I still get the same message!

Right, for some reason it worked when I reinstalled the ‘query.php’ file for the second time. However, I now have this problem when trying to edit a page!:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_editable_user_ids() in /…/wp-admin/edit-page-form.php on line 86

Blimey… I’ve reinstalled the files three or four times now (or at least, done three or four sweeps, replacing missing or incomplete files), and now there is an error connecting to the database. Amusing, but frustrating.
