I get this message when I downloaded the theme and installed it. I saw a typical topic but it didn’t help me to fix the problem. I use 000webhost.com for my site and want help from someone!

The message I get when I’m trying to open admin panel or my site after installing the theme:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/a3705215/public_html/wp-content/themes/zerif-lite-2/inc/jetpack.php on line 1

  • Hi,

Please delete the theme and try to install it again and tell me if it’s working then or not. Thanks. 🙂

I had the same problem and fixed it with this helpful tip.

    BUT…

when I installed the theme from within wp-admin (add new theme), which fixed the problem and now I can see the webpage,

all the php files which I manually edited because of need of translation of headings are in an unknown position. If I could find them, I would replace them with old files. I knwo child theme would be better, but I don’t know how to set it up properly.
