Hi, it seems that sometimes I can manage the stocks at the parent level. I am confused. Could you explain?
Hi @tzyyyuin,
You can enable stock management overall by going to WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Inventory and checking the box to enable stock management. This will enable it as a whole across the site, as you enter quantity for each product at the product level, and WooCommerce subtracts items as sales are made – displaying: Stock, Out of Stock or On Backorder. More on overall inventory management can be found at this link.
The checkbox for enabling stock management can be left unchecked, and you still have the capability of stock management on an individual product level. More on that is in this link. If you are doing a variable product, then under the Inventory area set to manage stock at the variation level and then you can control it individually for each variation. I hope this helps a bit, if you need more guidance please let us know!
Hi, thanks for reply.
I need to know how to set the stock for a variable products at the parent level and not at the variable level.
Eg. Product A is Store A. Store A provides 3 kinds of muffin (variables a, b and c). Store A can only bake 20 muffins a day, regardless of how many a, b and c as long as the total quantity does not exceed 20.
How can I do that?
1) Uncheck manage stock at the variation level for each: http://cld.wthms.co/4ZXx31
2) Manage stock at the product level only: http://cld.wthms.co/p4M15E
