Paragraph formating not working

    Hi All,
    Apologies if this has been answered before but searched and can’t find any satisfactory answer/resolution to this issue.

    Problem I’m experiencing is that irrespective of whether I create a new page or cut and paste, despite the visual editor showing ‘Paragraph’ in the Format drop down for a piece of text, when examined in the HTML, no <p> tags are present. Even saving, previewing and checking source shows no <p> tags.

    I’ve created my own theme and <p> tag style definition exists in the CSS file. Using WP self-hosted version 3.0.1. Please note I’m using WP as CMS not as blog, if that makes any difference.

    Any help would be much appreciated.
