Is it possible to get same kind of pagination like on the demo event list?
or select the events by months?

Yes, that page is just the events page (see Settings > Event Organsier > Permalinks) and not created by the shortcode.
You can also view events by month. Again see the above settings page for the link for your site. By default its /events/on/2014-03
