• Changes to pages will not update. When the UPDATE/Publish button is pressed the circle “updater” icon simply spins and spins…

    No cache plugins are installed.

    Any ideas?

I’m having the same issue, ever since updating to the latest WordPress version Saturday and have yet to find someone with an answer.

I’ve also been having this problem since the update with new posts and any type of “new item.” I’ve been through the whole routine of disabling all the plugins and trying a generic theme. I’ve cleared cache, rebooted browser and computer, tried multiple browsers (several I never use)and even tried on several other computers I never work on.

I have been able to force a test page to publish by going into the server and changing the status of an item to publish. But that is an extreme way to do this that I wouldn’t want to rely on regularly.

I have found a variety of forum posts that seem to indicate others are having problems with the update, but most of the conversations are extremely complex and beyond my skill level. One complaint was an extremely high CPU on their server. Is this related? I don’t know.

One person who could not publish a new post was told to do a WP update. I’ve looked into this and I’ve decided to set this project aside until I have a few hours over the weekend.

Actually I have been hesitant to try anything drastic until I figure out if this is just my site or if it has something to do with the update. Your post seems to indicate that there is something wrong with saving posts or any new item. My site is not having trouble with folks posting topics and replies on the bbPress forum.

    It’s very peculiar.

I have a client with this issue, havent found a reason yet however using quick edit to change the new page from draft to published seams to be a workaround for them.
