Page will not update

I had my wordpress website done by a designer and it was just turned over to me. I am new to wordpress, but have previously developed websites with dreamweaver. My problem is, I cannot seem to make a change to a specific page. If I change the text or a graphic reference and hit ‘update’, the changes are not reflected when I view the page, however if I go back into the code, it is still changed. Any ideas? Thanks!
