I want to page title to show only the page name and not page name with page site, the title on the tab can stay page title with site name.
for the example the page title need do be “About” and NOT “About – my site name”
the tab title can be “About – my site name”

It was like before and I think your update broke it.

  • @mstudioil Plugin allows you to set templates for the titles and meta descriptions too. You can do so in the SEO >> Titles and Metas >> Post Types => Pages. Here, you would need to remove %%sitename%% template variable. You can also take a look at this screencast: https://youtu.be/QMvGFuCNtR8

Thanks, but it remove the site name from both the tab title and the page title.
I only want to remove it from the page title

What do you mean by tab title? The SEO title you define in Yoast SEO will be ouput in the source code of you page within the <title></title> tag. This title tag will be shown in your browser (see screenshot) and is expected to be used by search engines in the search results.

Please, refer to this post for more information about SEO titles: https://yoast.com/page-titles-seo/

Tab title it is what you show on the screenshot.
Page title it is the H1 tag on the page, I do not want this tag to be “site name – page title” I want it to be “page title”

You can change the page title by editing the first text field at the top of the edit screen of the page (see screenshot). If your page shows an incorrect page title, you may want to check for conflicts, as the Yoast SEO plugin doesn’t have any influence on what’s shown as the page title (i.e. H1 tag).
