• I am receiving an error for the Page Cache URL Rewriting, which is as follows: “It appears Page Cache URL rewriting is not working. Please verify that the server configuration allows .htaccess. Unfortunately disk enhanced page caching will not function without custom rewrite rules. Please ask your server administrator for assistance.”

“.htaccess file contains rules to rewrite url https://cobranetwork.co.uk/w3tc_rewrite_test into https://cobranetwork.co.uk/?w3tc_rewrite_test which, if handled by plugin, return “OK” message.
The plugin made a request to https://cobranetwork.co.uk/w3tc_rewrite_test but received:
cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 5000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received
    instead of “OK” response.”

I have seen a previous support case with a similar error and I followed the response there which was to paste the URL into a browser and see if I receive the “OK” response. However, I only receive the 404 error for my website, not the error that the plugin is stating it experienced.

How can I resolve this problem?

  • I have the same issue. But there is no help to find in this forum. The plugin was updated 6 months ago. So my only guess is that this is an issue with the plugin. I suggest using a pluging that is updated more often.
