Page Anchors

    Hi,

    After successfully inserting a page anchor, when clicking the anchor, the redirect is showing the anchor text just above the top of the screen.

    For example, if I link to a header text titled “Link Here”; when I’m taken to the page, the title is just off the top of the screen. I would prefer the title to be visible when linking.

    Is there a custom function to add some top padding or margin to a link containing an anchor to make the redirect page “shift” upwards about 20 pixels?

    I think it would be related to the template file associated with the page or some code in the page that varies from the others.

    Well, I use it in one of my plugins… and it has the same effect for everyone who is using it.

    I was hoping there was a “hook” or something I could hook into from a plugin file.

    I think this is somewhat similar to the “read more” buttons. By default, when you click the button, it takes you to JUST below the content where you inserted the button.

    I’ve used a function which changes this to linking you to the top of the page.

    I was hoping there was something similar for use with anchors??

    Yah, I noticed that also that the default read more in wp 3.3.1 has no ‘room’ above….ask WP folks, they wrote it…
