Override archive with static page.

Hello,

Is there a way to make a page with the same URL as a taxonomy’s archive page be displayed rather than the archive?

I have a custom taxonomy I was once able to override simply by creating a page with the same URL name. (i.e., URL.com/taxonomy)

I did this because I have a shortcode I use to display a sortable table listing all the posts within that taxonomy.

However, for some reason, this no longer is working. Not sure why. Is there some code I can use to tell WordPress to retrieve the page with the same name, rather than the archive?
