I’m using Godaddy to host WordPress and want to build an online store. I still have no idea on the shopping cart plugin I’ll use though I’m leaning towards ecommerce or zencart. (don’t know if it matters and any suggestions appreciated)
I want my site to be as secure as possible so I have purchased SSL and want to add some sort of website scanner and prefer to go with something WordPress suggests or related. In the Codex-Hardening WordPress, OSSEC and Clam AV are mentioned. I am a newbie at all of this and so far in over my head.

    With OSSEC,

1 Do you install it on your own computer or through godaddy somehow(they don’t offer it?)? Do you then manually install it to WordPress?

2 Will installing it on my computer interfere with any AVG or PC Tools?

3 WordPress suggests it but I’m not finding a plug…is there one?

As for Clam AV…they are basically the same questions as with OSSEC.

Also is there a trusted resource other than the Codex to look for up to date info on the best/top/most secure plugins? As of right now I’m google searching and comparing all in the past 6 months for info…it’s exhausting.
Sorry about the book, thanks for any (and I mean ANY) help given! 🙂
