Organize Users By A Custom Field

Hi, i wanted to add a croudsourcing section to my website but i am not to familiar with having people make accounts on my wordpress site, but what i want to do is when they make an account that there will be a section in wordpress where i can determine that the new users are new users because they are signing up to the croudsourcing section of the website so i can differentiate between different sign ups (for example i may also have a sports section where people can sign up and i want to differentiate between who is signing up through the sports part of the website and who is signing up through the croudsourcing page of the website). If someone can help me out that would be a huge blessing!! thanks!
