Order posts by Custom Field using a dropdown

Hello,

I’ve created a dropdown/select menu to allow my site’s users to reorder the posts (with the help of this article

My posts also have a custom field (‘rating’) with a numeric value from 1–5, and I’d like to add an option to the dropdown for users reorder the posts by rating. Could anyone give me any clues or help? Thanks.
