from yesterday, our Woocommerce shop if you want to buy something, after some second he receive an error:
“An error occurred while processing your order. Please check your payment method for any charges and review your order history before placing your order again.”
On the order page we didn’t see any order.
On the woocommerce log page, we didn’t see anything wrong:
Enable the default Cash on Delivery payment method.
Try to reproduce the issue.
If the issue no longer occurs, reactivate your plugins one by one, testing after each activation until the issue reappears.
Additionally, could you please share the exact steps to reproduce the issue on your site? This will allow us to try reproducing the behavior on our end as well.
Once we have this information, we’ll be happy to investigate further.
This happens with the “advance bank transfer” payment (pay by bank transfer before shipping). I haven’t tried other payment methods, but I should try.
Same with the first two payment methods:
The last time we created a staging site with a plugin (WP Staging), Jetpack and other services were messed up, and Aruba support (Server) had to change some settings because it wasn’t working properly again.
Shall we proceed with staging again (hoping nothing strange happens)?
Good morning. Yesterday I was testing the staging site by reactivating the various plugins. I was halfway through and everything was working, then the work day ended, so I took a break to start again today.
Yesterday, just to test from home, I opened the old site on my smartphone and placed an order to see yet another error… and instead it went through (though without having made any changes).
This seems quite strange to me… what could have happened?
For practically 24 hours, the site wasn’t working.
Thank you for providing more information about the issue and for explaining what happened during your testing.
Since the issue appears to have resolved itself after approximately 24 hours without any changes being made, it’s possible that this was caused by a temporary caching issue, server-side issue, or a temporary problem communicating with the payment provider. However, we would need to see the issue while it is occurring to determine the exact cause.
Could you please confirm whether everything is currently working as expected today, including placing an order with the affected payment method?
If everything is working normally now, I would recommend keeping an eye on the site for the time being. If the issue happens again, please let us know before making any changes if possible.
If that happens again, as a troubleshooting step, you could temporarily enable the default Cash on Delivery payment method and disable PayPal, then place a test order to see whether you experience the same error.
If the error occurs again, please also share the exact error message and any relevant logs from WooCommerce → Status → Logs so we can investigate the issue while it is reproducible.
That error is often related to the payment gateway or a recent plugin update. I’d recommend checking your payment gateway logs, enabling WooCommerce debug logging, and temporarily disabling recently updated plugins (except WooCommerce) to identify any conflicts. Also, try placing a test order using a different payment method to narrow down the cause.
