Optimize images

    Hi,

    I use a theme where it shows the image sizes to be inserted, like 600 x 300, but this same image appears in small space like big space.

    I tried to install plugins to optimize the images, among them it says I have to crop the image.

    How do I make the images not too heavy and the site lighter?
    Do image optimization plugins transform and replace all images or just optimize as images are used?

    Can someone help me make the site lighter. I use the Traveler theme.
