Ooops help with .htaccess file

    I accidentally deleted my .htaccess file, now I am getting error 404 messages for my posts. Can anyone tell me what is supposed to be in the .htaccess file? I need to create a new one and upload it.

    Have you tried simply resetting your custom permalinks up?

    I have not. How is it done, and how would it help? Can my blog function without the .htaccess file?

    By creating/updating your .htaccess file.

    Yes but only if you stick with default permalinks.
