only show text before More Tag

Hello, im using slidedeck 2 as a featured slider on my homepage, to display some features posts. (site is local, so no link)

Its all very nice, displays the article title, and then below some text…but for some reason, it completely ignores the More Tag and continues to post the actual article contents…

so for example:

Hello here is a short description
——————————— (this indicates the more line
this is the actual article

how/what file do i need to modify so that the slider only shows text that appear before the more line?

I know you can limit the number of characters shown, but I would like to have more control over it…
