Hi Rolf (@ravanh),
Thank you for reaching out.
The error Failed loading panel preload information. Error: Error %s - Session Expired (Refresh Page Needed?) occurs when JetBackup’s backend AJAX requests fail WordPress security nonce verification. This means the security token used to validate requests between your browser and the WordPress REST/AJAX endpoint is failing validation or is not being accepted.
If refreshing the page does not resolve the issue, common root causes include:
- Page or Server Caching: Page caching, object caching, or host/CDN cache layer configurations serving cached or stale nonce tokens to the frontend.
- Domain or Cookie Mismatches: Mismatched site URLs, HTTP vs. HTTPS protocol differences, or custom cookie domain configurations—which are especially prevalent in WordPress Multisite network setups.
- Security or Firewall Interference: Security plugins, host-level web application firewalls (WAF), or server rules stripping custom headers or blocking internal AJAX callbacks.
Because refreshing the page does not clear this error in your setup, we will need to access your installation directly to inspect the Network Admin AJAX requests and debug the root cause.
Please open a ticket through the JetBackup Support Portal and include a link to this forum thread so our technical team can investigate further.
