Only one sticky post in the loop

Hi there,

I’m making a new theme for my blog based on the Thematic framework. However, I have reverted the loop to the default WordPress one.

The problem is that when I post several sticky posts, they all are displayed on the first page of the loop.

What I want to do, is to only display the latest sticky post.

I have searched for a lot of solutions and all of the ones that worked (displayed only the latest sticky post) cancels the rest of the posts from the loop.

What I want is a code that works well. I’m not a PHP coder, so giving me just directions won’t do much for me. I mostly base myself on tutorials.
