Old URLs remain after migration
-
Let me start by saying that I don’t know if this is a WPvivid problem, but it seems to have started after a migrate using WPvivid. If the problem is elsewhere I shall search further, but I need to eliminate WPvivid (which is otherwise an excellent plugin) as cause.
I run a site
www.binnenstadduurzaam.nland have a test sitetest.corryderek.nlwhich I use for … er … testing(binnenstadduurzaam.nlandcorryderek.nlare the same site). In general I keep both sites identical.Recently I made major changes on the
testsite and on 2 november used WPvivid to copy it to thewwwsite. All seemed to be OK (I had made backups just in case) so I relaxed. A couple of minor updates went OK, then I started to notice problems with CSS settings (but could not pin anything down, and they were not crippling). Then (2 december) I needed to add a PDF file; I added it to the
testsite and that went well, so I added it to thewwwsite and got a “not found” message. Investigation showed that uploading media files to thewwwsite stored them in the uploads subdirectory of thetestsite. I hand-edited the relevant link on thewwwsite to point to thetestsite, but this is only a workaround and I need a permanent solution. (If anyone wants to investigate it’s at the bottom of https://www.binnenstadduurzaam.nl/projecten/zonnepaneel/ and https://test.corryderek.nl/projecten/zonnepaneel/ )Is it possible that, during the migrate, the old URL test.corryderek.nl was imported but not replaced by http://www.binnenstadduurzaam.nl in some file deep in WP’s bowels? (This might also explain why some CSS does not work.) Has anybody else migrated from
test.mysite.comtowww.mysite.comwithout problems? The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]
