• Hi,

Want to update to WP 3.0.1 but much prefer the color scheme of 2.9 which I’m still using on another site.

I tried to go into /wp-admin/css and download and re-upload the 2.9’s stylesheet (to the 3.0 installation) but that didn’t work to change the colors!

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

  • If you’re referring to the Admin color scheme, you can change it in 3.0 via your profile.

    thanks esmi,

i’m absolutely crazy for the little things though and its not the same in the old one (even blue).

i know this seems ridiculous but its a fairly big website and i spend about 1-2 hours every day of my life working in the backend I want it to look the way i want it to!!!!

so to come back to my original question would there by any way of exporting the 2.9’s admin css file and uploading it to the 3.0 install?

I would say no. Since more things have changed than just css.

ah ok i guess ill just have to get with the times and upgrade then. no point hanging around on 2.9 for too much longer!!!

Nope…. upgrading is good! New features, keep current on security, etc.

You do have the option of customizing your admin area with your own css through your functions.php file (or there are plugins to do it)

I have a totally customized admin area that I set up, a bit of work, but pretty fun!
