  • I tried to run wordpress after installing and running XAMPP and put the wordpress folder in c:\XAMPP

I get this error: Object not found!

That message also appeared the previous time when I tried to view the new theme.

Can somebody help me understand and fix this? How can I make wordpress work smoothly locally?

Did you follow a tutorial, and if so which one? This gives us a better idea of what could be the issue.

This is where the WordPress folder should be:

    C:\xampp\htdocs

So the full path would be C:\xampp\htdocs\wordpress and you would then access it in your browser with http://localhost/wordpress

    Cheers!

I moved the wordpress folder to htdocs directory.

I typed localhost/wordpress in the browser and this message appeared:

    Error establishing a database connection

    What is this?

Answer: I edited the wp-config.php file to match the database with wordpress.
