Access token expired and feed stopped working, I tried regenerating the token through settings and got:

    {“error_type”: “OAuthException”, “code”: 400, “error_message”: “Invalid scope field(s): public_content”}

Which I take it means IG thinks it’s already provided a token and won’t allow another token to be generated.

I removed the IG account that was linked to the account and tried to reconnect but got the same error. Only fixes I can see are from the developer console, but the app doesn’t appear there. Neither does it appear in the list of approved apps from my IG account.

    Hey guys,

Sorry for the issue. Instagram deprecated a scope which we use in the account connection process and caused this issue. We just pushed out an update which should resolve this.

    Sorry for any inconvenience!

    Hey @fairkatrina and @godesigns,

Would you be willing to contact us on our website so we can have a look? Otherwise, can you try clearing any browser caches or try using a different browser to see if it makes a difference?

You should also be able to use the “Button not working” link to manually connect an account either way.

    Hi SmashBalloon,

I ‘m the owner of a website wich have the same problem : “OAuthException: Invalid scope field(s): public_content”. So my website , is actually down
So If you could have 2 minutes to help me , it would be wonderful !
I see nothing on a instagram api change ?
Could you explain me what have you change, to make your app work again ?
I’m currently accepted for the scope Instagram public content, and i don’t understand why i have this error.
    Thanks a lot !!

    Hey Thomas,

I’m thinking this is not related to our plugin is that correct?

If not, I can tell you that we fixed our problem by removing “public_content” from any of our API calls that included it. This permission was deprecated last year but only recently causes the error you are seeing.

    Hopefully that helps!

except if you have not renewed your license your feed is broken, this sucks. I want to renew but its not feesable for me right now, other things to spend money on….

    Hey stevedmma,

Sorry to hear that! You should still be able to get a new access token on our page on our website:

    https://smashballoon.com/instagram-feed/token/

    Does that work for you?
