Numbering also in headlines

    Hi,
    I’d like to use my H2 for the TOC and also have all my H2s numbered themselves. So that the reader always knows quickly if he’s in point 3 or 7.
    If I number my H2s, however, the TOC is numbered “twice” – e.g.
    1.1. first topic
    2.2. second topic
    etc.

    How can I get my headlines numbered and the TOC looking good?
    Would appreciate your input.

    Navigate to the Settings : Table of Contents admin page. Scroll to the bottom of the General section and change the Counter option to None. Save the changes.

    Now you can manually add your numbering.
