It appears that when having a series of private messages with another WP user, not anonymous, that when that other user logs out of WP then I cannot send a private message to that user anymore as they are dropped off the user list for a chat.
Do you plan in the future to have sticky private (or direct) message channels? That is if the person is offline but you can still send a private message and the other user will get an email notification and they can read the message when they are back line. This is the direct message functionality in Mattermost or Slack.

    Hello @dworthem

Please go to Appearance settings and enable “Enable Offline Users” option. This will display both online and offline users on the list.

Will this allow me to post a message to an offline user and will they receive an email notification? So far the latter has not worked.

@dworthem First you have to configure e-mail notifications in Notifications tab.

I have been trying to set that up in the Notifications tab. As an admin I added the email address of one our Editor’s email. With the person logged out they are not receiving an email when I send a private message. What am I missing?

If the admin email address is dworthem@mykolab.com and the email address of an Editor is dennis@lakewoodsolar.org. How exactly do I configure notifications so that when the admin sends (or another editor) sends a private message to dennis an email gets sent to dennis@lakewoodsolar.org even if dennis is logged off WP?

Can you tell me specifically, please, I have been trying.

    Thanks, Dennis

I wanted to present this functionality to some user this Sunday so any specific guidelines would be helpful.

do I need to install the WP Mail SMTP plugin to get email notifications to work properly from Wise Chat Pro?

    Hello @dworthem

For Pro-related questions please contact us directly. It will be much faster to reply.

Notifications make use of the standard wp_mail() function from WordPress core functionality. Please configure WordPress setup to send e-mails and this way notifications in the chat will be delivered too. In most cases WP Mail SMTP is needed to enable e-mails sending. Please configure this plugin and send test e-mails to make sure it works correctly.

    Best regards
